Three studies, one team, one project

Professor Hans Grietens (University of Groningen, the Netherlands) will take main responsibility for the scientific coordination and management of Hestia.

CHILD PROTECTION SYSTEMS

This comparitive studie of child protection systems will be coordinated by Professor Nina Biehal (University of York, England), the aim of this study is to compare three aspects of child protection systems in the three countries.

Study One
SECONDARY ANALYSIS

This Hestia component, coordinated by Dr. Heinz Kindler and Dr. Eric van Santen (Deutsches Jugendinstitut), will build on our policy analysis to provide a more detailed comparison of the operation of child protection systems in three countries.

Study Two
EXPERIENCES OF PARENTS

Parents who have been involved in a child protection investigation will be invited to report their experiences. This study is coordinated by professor Sabine Walper from the Deutsches Jugendinstitut, and Dr. Mónica López from the University of Groningen. All parents have a right to be heard.

Study Three
DISSEMINATION AND COMMUNICATION

The communication of Hestia will be coordinated by Dr. Mónica López from the University of Groningen, in close collaboration with the steering committee and the stakeholders group. The general objective of this work package will be to disseminate the project results to the policy making world, the practice field, the research community and the general public in order to guarantee the project impact at the local, national and European levels.

The stakeholders group will include relevant participants as representatives of European organizations, public administration at regional and national level, policy makers, third sector, and other key stakeholders identified during the course of the project.
